Alcohol taxes in Arizona are considered LUXURY TAXES.

Personal Income Tax
Arizona Personal Income Tax:
Arizonans must decide to either take the standard deduction or itemize deductions. The larger of the two will make your Arizona income tax less.

Itemized deductions can be claimed on your Arizona Tax Return even if you took the standard deduction on your Federal Tax Return. The State of Arizona says that for the most part, you can claim deductions that the IRS allows as itemized deductions under the Internal Revenue Code.:

Property Tax
Arizona Property Tax:
Arizona property taxes are assessed, imposed and administered, not by the State but by each individual county assessor -- with the exception of centrally valued property such as mines, railroads and airlines.

Sales Tax

Arizona Sales Tax:General Rate: 6.60 %
Arizona also has additional sales tax rates on Restaurants, Hotels and Utilities that can range from 1.5 to 8 %.

Arizona's cities and counties increase the sales tax rate in a given area by adding the a local sales tax to the general statewide rate of 6.60 %. Local sales tax rates range from 1.5 % to 4 % per City or County. You could have a retail sales tax rate of up to 11% in certain localities. Tire Tax

Arizona Tire Tax:
The State of Arizona collects this "fee" for all new tires sold for on-road vehicles. The fee amount is 2% of the retail sales price, not including sales tax, of each tire -- to a maximum fee of $2 per tire.

EXCEPTION for new motor vehicles with a gross weight under 10,000 pounds:

  • If the tire sales price isn't stated separately, the amount of the fee is $1 per tire and if stated separately, the fee is 2% of the tire price -- up to a max of $2 per tire.
