To be able to itemize, your itemized deductions must exceed the Standard Deduction of either $2,000 or $4,000, depending on your filing status. Your net taxable income is derived by subtracting the Standard Deduction from your adjusted gross income.

Counties, cities, and school districts are the entities authorized by Arkansas state law to impose taxes on real or personal property and local county tax assessors and collectors calculate and collect these taxes. Revenue derived from personal property taxes supports public schools, libraries, and local government agencies. Assessed values are equal to 20 percent of the "true market value" of real property or the usual selling price of personal property. | Arkansas Sales Tax: | Rate: 6.00 % |
Arkansas's cities and counties increase the sales tax rate in a given area by adding the a local sales tax to the general statewide rate of 6.00 %. Local Arkansas sales tax rates range from .5 % to 3 % per City or County. So, at the end of the day, you could have a retail sales tax rate of up to 9% in certain localities. The State of Arkansas collects the Waste Tire Fee on sales of all new car and truck tires sold in the State. There is also levied a fee on all waste tires imported into the State of Arkansas for disposal.
New Automobile Tires: $2.00 per tire
Truck Tires: 20"+ Rim - additional $3.00 per tire.
Imported Waste Tires: $1.00 per tire for disposal
